All the CD-roms make use of the fact that they are on your screen
there are lots of colour pictures and lots of live links to pages on the web
so that you can take your interests further.
Please note they are not DVDs - no moving pictures!

Knitting Fair Isle - 20 (32$)
This contains the book The Fair Isle Workbook and the pattern for the Upper Leogh jacket. The workbook includes both techniques and history, and several pages of stitch motifs, along with the pattern for a beanie with several different motifs. The jacket has step-by-step notes with many photos to help you through the knitting process.
It also contains over 350 photos of the island, the sheep and the other wild life on the island. 15 of these photos have been prepared as wall papers for both normal and wide screens.
Knitting Shetland Lace - 15 (24$)
This contains two books: Starting Shetland Lace and Extra Patterns for Shetland Lace. These take you from your first yarn over to knitting stunning shawls in the finest yarns.
It also contains over 150 photos of the island of Unst, where the finest shawls were knitted, along with many photos of antique and modern lace shawls. 13 of these photos have been prepared as wall papers for both normal and wide screens.
Knitting Ganseys - 15 (24$)
This contains two books: The Gansey Workbook and Designing Ganseys. They tell all you need to know to knit a gansey, including a 5 ply gansey in many sizes. Some of the history of ganseys is given, along with a tour round the coast of the UK detailing the types of ganseys common in each region, along with lots of charts for the common (and not so common) stitch patterns. The design book takes you through the process of designing your own gansey (or other sweater) including tips on how to choose the stitch patterns.
It also contains two illustrated articles. The first is about the life of the herring gutters who came to the Orkney island of Stronsay each year. These girls followed the herring fleets to process the fish. The second is about the knitting the gutters were never without.
Knitting North Ronaldsay - 15 (24$)
This contains two books: A North Ronaldsay Yarn The Sheep, their wool and their island, and A North Ronaldsay Pattern Book.
It also contains over 150 photos of the island, the sheep and the other wild life on the island. 11 of these photos have been prepared as wall papers for both normal and wide screens.
Starting Spindle Spinning - 10 (16$)
Most spindle spinning books have a few small line drawings. This book has lots and lots of colour photos, showing every small step of the process from choosing your spindle and fibre to having yarn ready for knitting or weaving. It then goes through the major spindle makers on both sides of the Pond with photos of their spindles and live links to their web sites.
As a bonus, there are 8 spindle wall papers for your screen, both in normal and wide screen format.
